I had been diagnosed with unexplained infertility after 3 years of trying for a baby and was referred for a round of IVF on the NHS. Whilst researching IVF, I’d read that acupuncture could be helpful alongside it, so thought I would give it a go. Alongside unexplained infertility, I had irregular bleeding, crippling periods, headaches and insomnia… Which I put down to the stress of infertility. After a Google search and a read of reviews, I decided to book to see Aliya in April 2022. I was sceptical, as acupuncture isn’t my usual kind of thing, but honestly, after the first session, I felt positive about being able to conceive for the first time in years and couldn’t wait to go back. Aliya has a way of putting you at ease immediately, her knowledge and expertise, alongside her calming manner, positivity and kindness was exactly what I needed. From the accupuncture itself, to recommendations on diet, keeping cool and more, I felt like I was taking control of my body. By May 2022 my periods had improved, I felt much better mentally and physically and by July, I was pregnant naturally, something I never thought would happen. If you’d have said a year ago I would be shouting about acupuncture, I would never have believed you. But I am certain that if it wasn’t for Aliya’s help and expertise, I wouldn’t be where I am now! I have continued to see Aliya throughout my pregnancy, which helped keep my calm throughout the early days, and I’m days away from welcoming our newest addition.
