After being diagnosed with arthritis in my wrists and hands in April my GP recommended physio exercises at home, I followed the steps 3 times a day but this was of no help. I was then referred to another physio who was a doctor as well, further, more comprehensive exercises for another month with no improvement, in fact the pain was getting worse, particularly at night when I would wake in the early hours even after painkillers. The GP then offered a steroid injection in both hands, I reluctantly agreed to just one, absolutely no affect. In July I had my first acupuncture session, I slept like a log that night, no painkillers but slightly ache with wrists in the morning, apparently this can happen. Each session I have seen improvement, in fact before the 1st session I couldn’t open tupperware boxes, now I feel 90/95% strength is back. I’m carrying on as Aliya is working on other aches and pains ( it’s an age thing) with similar steady improvements.
