As an existing client of Ali’s I turned to her when we were struggling to conceive after being diagnosed with polycystic ovaries. After spending two months on hormonal fertility drugs which didn’t agree with me I decided to try a more holistic approach and visited Ali every two weeks. She helped me enormously, and made me feel like I had support with our fertility journey, she took away any fears I had about being unable to conceive and after just two months of consistent acupuncture she regulated my cycle and we fell pregnant naturally. I knew that my body was in the best possible shape for a trouble free pregnancy thanks to Ali and trusted my body for the following nine months. I could not recommend her highly enough.

Ali was recommended by a friend who was studying acupuncture and thought that Ali’s gentle and caring nature was exactly what I needed. We are unable to conceive naturally and after several failed fertility treatments it was time to try something different. When I first met Ali I was having difficulty sleeping, it took me a long time to go to sleep and I would wake between 4 -5 am and not get back to sleep, after just 1 session I was going to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I was also experiencing painful and irregular periods and within a couple of sessions I had no pain and a much healthier period and most importantly for my husband I was no longer like a demon.
From my first two ivf cycles I produced 9 eggs on the first attempt and 7 on the seconds since working with Ali my egg numbers have increased to 17 on the third attempt and 16 on the 4th attempt. On both occasions the hospital encouraged us to leave the embryo’s to develop to day 5 blastocyst stage which wasn’t an option on previous attempts we had 2 good quality blastocyst’s to put back. Sadly we haven’t been successful on either occasion but the improvement in the number and quality of eggs has given us hope for the future.
Ali has been a wonderful support and helped me in so many ways, she has regulated my period, improved my quality of sleep, helped to reduce my stress levels and improved egg quality and number of eggs. She is always very encouraging and at the end of every session she gives you a card with helpful suggestions and positive mantra’s, I have kept all of them and when I need a boost I have a read through and make sure I’m following all her advice.
I would highly recommend Ali as I have seen firsthand the difference acupuncture can make.

I first saw Ali in Sept 12 and she used Acupuncture to clear my headaches, reduce spotting, period pain, sore breasts, improve cervical secretions and balance emotions. On session 5 I felt amazing, not stressed one single bit, like a switch had been turned off. By session 10 I had no clots, no pain, my PMS was under control and I had a 28 day cycle (was 34 days in the past). Ali used Acupuncture alongside my IVF and on 24th Sept 13 I was 5 weeks pregnant !! I am now 15 weeks and feel great! I would definitely recommend Ali she has helped me thorough a difficult journey to become pregnant and has always kept me positive and calm.

After trying to conceive for two years unsuccessfully, and suffering one miscarriage I decided to try accupuncture. Ali was extremely supportive from the outset and provided me with a different, welcome perspective on something that was becoming very frustrating emotionally and physically draining. From the first appointment I felt immediately relaxed and over the course of the next few weeks had noticed a huge improvement to my skin (mild acne due to pcos). Ali gave me homework after each session tailored specifically to what needed to improve and I followed this to the letter (none of it was unpleasant!) incredibly after only 6 weeks I discovered I was pregnant! I started seeing Ali weekly from this time to ensure the pregnancy was rooted and supported. This was so reassuring for me, particularly after my earlier miscarriage. I’m now 12 weeks pregnant and feeling fantastic and confident about my pregnancy, Ali was even able to help with my morning sickness when it struck at 7 weeks! Magic! I don’t know how or why acupuncture worked for me and to be honest I don’t care – it worked! Sometimes it’s just a question of putting your faith in something and someone else. I’ve already recommended Ali to good friends that are experiencing the same difficulties as I have every faith in her success rate.

The joyous news if you do not wish to read any further is that I am 13 weeks pregnant and I do believe it is due to Fertility Acupuncture with Ali at Meridian Acupuncture and I cannot recommend this highly enough to you!! My issues were long cycle periods (32/33/34 days+ and getting longer) with a late ovulation date and I had recently developed Acne. I first visited Ali on 5th July 2012, by the 2nd session I’d noticed my appetite was under control again, I was sleeping very well and my digestive system was back up to speed. I had also lost 5lbs within a fortnight without doing anything out of the ordinary!! On the 3rd session sweating and dryness had disappeared, any headaches I was getting had stopped and I felt as if I was getting my life back in balance and reducing stress. On the 4th session the Acne had reduced dramatically (I was on medication – face gel – from the Drs but was using this rarely as it really dried out my skin) and still no headaches. Ali advises me she targeted some strong points to regulate menstruation and boost my fertility, when I returned on my 5th session I informed Ali that my period had started on Day 27 (Amazing by my track record!!), I had tender breasts, and was off the smell and taste of coffee … On the 6th session in October I was pregnant!! I now know I had conceived on 19th August 2012, just over 6 weeks after my first session.
So, in summary, all I can say to you is, if you are unsure do give it a try, I have no idea how this worked but it did and I am immensely grateful to Ali for her expertise.

I went to Ali in Sept 2014 after being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries and trying to conceive. After just 3 sessions I found out I was pregnant! Amazing. I felt totally at ease with Ali and was amazed at how much acupuncture actually does work alongside taking Clomid which helped to make my body ovulate. I would definately recommend acupuncture and Ali because it really does work! I now have a beautiful daughter called ‘Lily Faith’!

I started seeing Ali in October 2015 after 5 years of trying to conceive and one failed round of IVF. She gave me hope and supported me through a stressful time. Within 2-3 sessions my almost daily migraines had completely gone and then slowly my periods started to get less painful and stretching to 28 days. I had my IVF cycle the following February and had some bleeding at 4 weeks but I continued with regular Acupuncture sessions and though we did have some bumps along the way (no pun intended) I now have a healthy baby boy. I went to Aliya in Feb of this year having suffered from terrible neck pain for nearly 30 years. I had been to 3 pain clinics, various osteopaths and chiropractors and had almost lost hope of ever living a pain free life. However, after just one session of acupuncture I immediately noticed an improvement after a night out where I would normally expect to be in severe pain and I wasn’t. After 3 sessions I was experiencing no bad necks at all. On top of that my period came and went without any pain. I am thrilled with these results and have recommended Aliya to many of my friends.

When I first went to see Ali I was at quite a low ebb and dealing with a couple of health issues including IBS, painful periods, low mood and I had also been trying to get pregnant for about 6 years. After the first few sessions I noticed a definite improvement in my periods, the pain has lessened which was such a relief. The most startling outcome was a fell pregnant after a few months of treatment and I believe the acupuncture played a big part in this. I continued to have sessions to try and make sure the pregnancy was as strong as possible and think the definitely helped to get me to where I am now, which is 7 months pregnant. I would definitely go back to Ali for treatment in the future.

I started seeing Ali just over a year ago, I was on the brink of a diagnosis of Fibro Myalgia and had been off work with chronic fatigue. My main symptom at that stage was a near constant fluey aching feeling, I have a demanding job and had started to wonder if I could continue working, I am also a single mum to a 5 year old so working (and an income) is a priority for me.
After my first visit to Ali, my achy painful symptoms stopped, in the past year I have had the odd days re-occurrence but nothing more, which is hard to believe given where I was when I first met her.
I see Ali most months and have had treatment for periods (which has stopped mid cycle bleeds), a painful back (the pain ceased that evening), for stress management and general health maintenance.
My treatment with Ali has given me back a life quality which I was losing, I look forward to the sessions and always feel an emotional un-lift after each visit. I will continue to see Ali regularly as a way of managing my health going forward. Thank you Ali:).
P. S I recommended my sister to Ali following an unsuccessful attempt at IVF, I’m pleased to say my sister is 14 weeks pregnant (through natural means).
